Mexico City-born Javier Verdura graduated from Art Center College of Design with a degree in Product Design in 1991.
In 2012 Javier joined Tesla where he is currently Global Director of Product Design. While at Tesla Javier has led hundreds of projects, from vehicle components, to the design of the companies’ iconic Superchargers, as well as leading the design of Tesla’s groundbreaking Energy products like the Solar Roof and Powerwall to name a few.
Prior to Tesla Javier had spent his entire career as a Design consultant and part-time educator. As a consultant for over 20 years, Javier designed everything from surgical equipment to consumer products and packaging, amassing more than 130 patents in the process. He has taught Industrial Design at Georgia Tech’s School of Design and Architecture as well as at the University of Monterrey, Mexico. Javier has also been recognized by his peers by winning some of the industry’s most prestigious awards.
